About Me…..for a change ; )

I’m a single parent of three awesome kids.  It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride and having one child with ASD and a PDA profile, it is definitely a constant and steep learning curve!  I don’t know why I started this blog other than to use it as a sort of diary to vent (or ‘journal’ as that sounds more politically correct in this day and age) to try and muddle my way through this journey of parenting and life, in the hope that it may be of some comfort and/or  help to myself (in retrospect) and maybe to someone else. It’s a place for me to tell my story and give you a space to share yours, so that together, we may feel a little less alone.

This is an evolving blog space where I share my thoughts and views.  It is not about apportioning blame, shame or any other derogatory human behaviours.  It is just me venting in the hope of finding clarity in hindsight and finding like minded individuals, who will support each other through these challenging times.  There is no right or wrong.  Its just about feelings and trying to find a way to remain positive and keep shining a light for my kids, so that they always know they are loved and cared for, no matter how hard things may get.

I tell my children all the time that I don’t care what race, gender, colour, sexual preference or any other distinguishing characteristics a person is.  What I do care about is that they are kind, compassionate and accepting of all people, whoever they may be and whatever they may believe.  We may all look different on the outside but on the inside, we are the same and human connection is what makes us the amazing species we are!
